Dear Port Orange Community Gardener,
On Saturday, March 8 we will be starting our 6th
season of the Port Orange Community Gardens! This year we are going to do as
much of the registration electronically by sending you the forms to fill in,
print and bring on Saturday. If you are
receiving this email, we assume you will be gardening with us for the 2014-15 seasons. If not, please let us know.
Signup and Payment Info:
Bring a printed copy of the numbered Pages 1 and 2 in the attached
PDF, filled in with your information and your signature, along with your
payment. Your signature signifies that
you have read the two pages and agree to the terms of the Port Orange Community
Gardens. You can pay by cash or
check. Checks can be made out to “Cash”
so Pat can deposit more easily for the Church.
New Gardeners:
$50.00 fee - $25.00 for your plot and $25.00 for your weeding deposit. New Gardeners are first time plot users or those that started in the Fall/Winter season and did not pay their weed deposit.

Note on Weed Reports:
Weed reports will commence about a month after planting day, March 8,
2014. This year, if your plot or aisle
area has to be weed-wacked/maintained during the 2014 - 2015 season, you will
lose your weed deposit. Any gardener is
welcome to assist in doing weed reports.
There are usually 2 or 3 people to mark the grades and keep photographic
records of the plots.
Please remember that the Gardens are a community effort, and
consequently weeding is part of keeping the community maintained so other
community members can access their garden.
Overgrown weeds block the sunlight to the gardens behind them, block the
aisles to gardens adjoining them and make the entire garden effort
aesthetically into a junk yard. Tools
left in the aisles are a hazard for other gardeners. If you sign up for a garden, you are
responsible for maintaining it for the entire year.
Dress Code:
While we understand how hot the weather can be while working in the
garden, please remember that it is still a public space on Church property, not
a beach space. So please try to remember
to wear appropriate clothing, including a shirt/t-shirt, even if it is
sleeveless.
Garden Hours: Respect
the Garden hours, particularly on Sunday.
We are grateful to be able to garden in the space offered by Faith Church,
and following a few simple rules will make it a wonderful experience for
everyone concerned.
Again, we look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Pat
Gill, Garden ‘CEO’, or email Lonny
Rogers, Garden Secretary.
P.S. We only need
form pages 1 and 2. The remainder of the
pages is for your information and you can choose to print or not.
